Schwedischer Birnenkuchen nach dem Rezept von Lena

          For a cake:

        225 g room-warm butter

        2 dl caster sugar

        2 dl brown sugar

        4 eggs

        5 dl wheat flour

        2 teaspoons baking powder

        3-4 pears

add cinnamon and cardamom to taste

And this is how it works:

Preheat the oven to 175°C. First peel the pears and cut them into pieces. If desired, sprinkle with a little cinnamon and cardamom and leave to stand while the dough is being prepared. Cream butter and sugar, add one egg after the other and stir until smooth. Add the remaining ingredients (except for the fruit) and stir until smooth. Grease a round dish with butter and sprinkle with breadcrumbs. Pour in half of the dough, fold in the pear pieces and add the rest of the dough. Bake in the lower part of the oven for 45-55 minutes. When the cake starts to come off the tin at the edges, it is ready, but check with a stick to make sure that it is also baked through in the middle. Best served lukewarm with a dollop of cream or vanilla sauce.

Of course you can also use apples or cherries as fruit. Bon appetite!
